Black & White Checkered Racing Flag
One of the most familiar symbols worldwide, the checkered flag represents the
Auto Racing Sport. The checkered racing flag is used to signal the finish
of the race, a practice session, or even a qualifying run. It is also
waved for all finishers of the race. In many series, these flags are
embroidered with the race logo and given to the winner.
This flag (24in x 24in) comes either with Heading and Grommets for display on
a pole or with a Band with a 5/8 x 36 in dowel.

Last Lap - Racing Flag
The waving of this white flag indicates that a driver is entering the
last lap of a practice, qualifying run or race. It is waved continuously to
all cars following the leader until the leader approaches the finish line.

Start - Racing Flag
The green flag is waved by the starter to indicate the beginning of a
race, qualifying run or practice session. It is also waved after a caution
to tell the drivers that the race has been restarted. The green flag also
used as an indication that the course is clear of any obstacles or debris.
|
Caution - Racing Flag
The yellow flag is used as a signal of Caution. When it is held
stationary the driver knows that there is a problem ahead. Drivers must slow
and refrain from passing. A waving yellow flag indicates immediate danger
ahead. Drivers must be prepared to stop and cannot pass, although they can
close the distance to the car immediately in front. Initiated by the
starter, a "full course caution" is signaled by waving all flags around the
track. Passing under the yellow is a serious infraction and drivers may be
severely punished. |

Stop - Racing Flag
The red flag indicates that the race is stopped due to some condition that has
made the track unsafe to race on. These conditions include weather,
accidents and surface problems (ie. Oil on the track). A red flag often
means the track has been completely blocked by an accident or debris and
there is no safe route through the problem. The red flag generally is
preceded by waving yellow flags. As soon as a red flag is shown, drivers
must come to a stop as quickly and safely as possible. |
Go to Your Pit - Racing Flag
The Black Flag is always bad news for the driver. The all-black flag
generally means that there has been an infraction. The driver must bring the
car to the pits on the next lap. The flag is displayed along with a pit
board listing the driver's car number. If a driver ignores the flag, it can
result in severe penalties such as disqualification or loss of points.. |

End of Race - Racing Flag
The checkered flag is the symbol of auto racing. It is waved by the
starter to indicate the finish of the practice session, qualifying run, or
official race. The checkered flag is waved for all finishers. The race
winner usually collects a checkered flag for a victory lap around the track.
In many race series the checkered flag has the race logo embroidered on the
flag and it is given to the winner. |
Move Over - Racing Flag
The blue or passing flag has different meanings depending on how it is
held. Generally when it is held motionless it is an indication to a driver
that there is a faster car coming up from behind, but not ready for a pass.
A waving flag usually indicates that the driver is about to be overtaken and
should move over for the vehicle to pass. |
